Service Provider Policies

Airport Shuttle, Inbound Connection & Shared-Ride Services
  • All shuttle buses are air-conditioned, non-smoking.
  • No pets allowed.
  • Each use includes space for one carry-on and one item of luggage.
  • The carry-on must stay with the passenger at all times. The luggage item will be tagged and placed in the luggage compartment.
  • Neither the service provider nor The Costa Rica Shuttle Bus will be held responsible for loss or damage to carry-on items left unsupervised by the passenger. This includes carry-on items incorrectly stored with the luggage.
  • Transportation of additional luggage, or large items is not included in the price and must be arranged ahead of time with the service provider. A payment of $10 (U.S.) is required for every extra item.
  • Additional luggage or large items will be stored in the luggage compartment.
  • Additional items are accepted according the available space. If there is no space remaining, the extra items cannot be transported.
  • A child's ticket is available to children from 0-11 years of age. The service provider requires that a guardian accompany minors at all times.
  • Car seats for children are provided when requested at no extra charge. These requests are always filled if there are car seats available.
  • Many trips include one rest stop and/or a change of shuttle buses. However, a trip will never have more than two rest stops.
  • We advise all passengers to be available for pick-up at least fifteen minutes prior to their assigned time. This is because the shuttle bus will only wait ten minutes past the assigned pick-up time. For example, if the pick-up time is 9am the shuttle bus will leave at 9:10am whether or not the passengers show up. However, this policy does not apply to Inbound Airport Shuttles or Inbound Connections. In these cases, the Service Provider waits for all passengers to arrive and disembark at the airport.
  • Occasionally the service provider uses ferries for transportation of passenger in places where there are no bridges. In this case, the shuttle bus will leave the passengers and their tagged luggage on the ferry to be picked up on the other side by a different shuttle bus and driver. In cases where the ferry is temporarily unavailable or out of order, the shuttle bus will wait a short time for the improvement of conditions before returning to the departure location. In such cases, the trip will have to be rescheduled for another day.

Cancellations & Refunds

Many operators charge us a cancellation fee - in turn, we may refund only part of your payment in the event of a cancellation. This does not include the credit processing fee, which will always be deducted from the refund. The following list outlines our cancellation policy:

Airport Shuttle, Inbound Connection & Shared-Ride Services
  • More than 72 hour notice prior to departure = no cancellation fee.
  • 72 to 24 hour notice prior to departure = 50% cancellation fee.
  • 24 hour or less notice prior to departure = 100% cancellation fee.
  • No show = 100% cancellation fee.
  • No refunds are given for unused trips.
